22 May 2009 New York City NJ to Baltimore MD

Today started with a trip to Ellis Island where the Statue of Liberty resides, Luckily there ample parking and interesting stuff to see. It was hectic driving in New York, but we survived. I did not have the guts though to drive to Manhattan and Central Park. I think our “bitch” would have lost reception. At the Liberty State Park we also noticed that there was a science centre worth visiting with the children , so the schedule to move to Washington was disrupted. What we forgot was that this was Memorial day weekend and traffic was a killer. The other issue was that all the accommodation that was cheap was taken or the coupons were not honoured. This made us drive on until we found a cheap Motel. Finally we found one in Baltimore off the beaten track. Tonight we have to plan our trip carefully to camp this weekend.
