06 May 2009 Tennessee to Kentucky.

Today we tackled the last leg to Kentucky a good 400 miles to the registration of the next FLW event to be held at lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. These are two lakes that are joined by a lock and the dam wall is the Kentucky dam. We had bad weather from the onset in Gatlinburg, making driving conditions quite tough, but we had planned enough time for travelling. We initially wanted to Camp and the forecast was that it would clear up, but eventually decided to rather give camping a skip and booked into the Days Inn. From there we left to investigate the launch area and then off to the registration. Water levels had risen, although the authorities had tried to bring the water down. The playground and a lot of new brush was flooded , going to make for interesting fishing. We were very exited to receive a call from the Pretoria Bass Masters after their annual meeting and it was good to hear those familiar voices again. Thanks all you guys it was appreciated. We were also fortunate to see two young red foxes come out of their den when we were looking for the launch.

Driving weather in the morning. Entering Knoxville. For those of you that saw the movie White Castle, we just had to find out what all the fuss was about.
