05 May 2009 From Myrtle Beach SC to Gatlinburg Tennessee

Today we had to move on towards Lake Barkley in Kentucky where the next FLW will be held. Luckily we have two days to cover the 800 miles, We decided to go via Charlotte in North Carolina as there is a Bass Pro Shop there. We found that this was not such an interesting shop, as all the Bass Pro Shops that are connected to a mall seem to be smaller. After our visit we saw heavy weather toward Tennessee and decided to have lunch first before driving on. After lunch the weather got really bad with some heavy showers along the way, and about half an hour later we heard the first Tornado warning on the Radio that was for Charlotte NC. Luckily we had left there already. The info system is great, as an very annoying sound comes over the radio and then the information is broadcast. The weather seemed to have passed as we reached Tennessee and this is most properly the most beautiful country side we have seen on our travels with the lush green forests, the Smokey mountains with fresh waterfall coming down after the rains and all the beautiful colourful spring blossoms that are adorning the highways. Tomorrow we take the last leg to Barley.
