Early rise this morning, but it there is fog and rain around, we leave for the half hour drive to the launch. Luckily my pro has a dock and there is no need to launch boats and find him in the hustle and bustle. After the launch we strategise and it seems that flipping the newly submerged brush will be the order of the day. The day starts of well with the pro catching a fish on his first cast, unfortunately not a keeper. The size limit for this event is 15 inches.
The weather remains gloom, but good for fishing and I land my first keeper before 8 o’clock. We keep pitching and catch in the excess of 60 fish each but all just short of 15 inches. I end the day with two keepers and the pro blanked. I caught fish on all techniques ranging from jigs to Carolina 10 inch worms and cranks, but could not get the larger females.
