21 June 2009 Fathers day in Tennessee

Today it was the day of the South African fathers in Knoxville, the only unfortunate thing was that Johan’s daughter could not be with us to celebrate this day. We decided to sleep in a bit today and then go to a lake and spend the day relaxing with a braai. Or destination was Lake Norris North west of Knoxville. When we arrived there we saw that there were a couple of families already having fun, but there was still space for us. In the heat the swimming area was unfortunately closed due to the high water in the lake, but this did not deter us we found a nice point and went swimming there.

Unfortunately the Bass did not play along today and only the Sunfish were biting.

Our prospective braai spot Michelle with her first Sunfish Rietha and Denise. Here you can see how full the lake is , the bench is in the water Sven in luck The closed swimming area Our spot The three fathers Johan our Grill master Michi took Denise fishing and she caught this little Sunfish. Amelia educating locals about African "democracy", and they thought all problems were solved when Mandela was released. South Africa was free. On the way to our swimming point P6210037 P6210041

Johan was supervising life saver as well. Michi and Mark diving for lures on submerged trees. Locals also having fun in the sun. Even here the fisherman leave a legacy of line Doing our bit to clean up. As hard as I tried,I could not coax them to bite. And that how a wonderful day ended.
