10 June 2009 Wonderworks at Pigeon Forge TN

Weather has changed for the worse and today will be a Science outing with the kids to the Wonderworks house. They say this is exercise for the mind and truly it was as they had so many interesting interactive activities there that kept us busy the whole day. The was visual stimulation, rides, Baseball pitching monitor, Sound machines virtual rides and simulators etc. Too much to mention just check out the pics.

This building was originally situated in Hawaii, but blown this way by a Hurricane. P6100073 P6100075 This event starts with the disorientation tunnel. Unfortunately a still picture does not do this event justice, but the drum outside spins, giving you the perception that the walkway is turning sideways as you eyes focus on the drum, You should see the people hang onto that rail although it does not move at all. This is a ride that spins you 360 degrees around an axis when you pedal. P6100117 If you don't pedal hard enough you fall backwards. P6100217 It seems that this ride scared a lot of people and there was no queue. So Michi and I rode it quite a few times, excellent fun!

Then we played mindball, where you get hooked up to a brain monitor. This monitor converts brainwaves into magnetic impulses.
