07 July 2009 SeaWorld Orlando FL

Today we went to SeaWorld in Orlando and all I can say is WOOOOOW !.  This was an experience and a half, always wanted to see a Killer whale and Shamu was the greatest. And what was Michelle’s dream, to see Shamu and feed the Dolphins and I am proud to say I could help fulfil her dream. There were also monster rides like the Manta and the Kraken. We only rode the Kraken as waiting times on the Manta were 2 hours, but the Kraken made me “Krak in my broek”. This was a wild ride and Michi and Amelia and myself really enjoyed it. We will go early to ride the Manta tomorrow. There were also a lot of great interactive activities and exhibits, like the Stingray feeding lagoon and Aquariums. But I think the pictures will tell the story. Again all I can say is WOW only once in your lifetime, but you have to do it!

A Map of the Park. Sea World buggy Shamus Home. This is the Manta A ride that you are strapped in like a hang glider. Twist and twirls. 6 They also put a lot of effortint Eco education. Live animal exhibits were everywhere. Stingray lagoon Feeding the Stingrays. 23 25Then Michelle had a chance to fulfill a dream. Feeding the Dolphins Up close and personal 15 Still tentative and a bit scared (intimidated) More confident and feeding the dolphin. Getting rewarded for good behaviour. This one was naughty and stole the paper holder that held the fish. Live Manatees, the mermaids of the rivers. The other regulars of Florida, the aligator28 Everywhere in the park there were plants shaped into animals from the sea. This is the Atlantis adventure ride. A big splash ending! You wont believe, they are sitting on an aquarium, with shools of fish swimming by underneath. Then it was Michi, myself and Amelia on the Kraken. Orlandos highest Rollercoaster, currently ranked No 4 on highest thrill rides in Orlando. This meant that Michi and Myself have now completed the top 5 rides in Orlando. We could not take many pictures, but believe me " I kraked in my pants" The Kraken props, eggs that must not be disturbed. Then we moved towards the Sharks. 42 43 a Black tip reef shark Through the Shark tunnel. A dragon fish. a small giant clam open. Off to see Shamu in his show "Believe" Beautiful stage and sound for the show. This show was so magnificent, it left a knot in my stomach. There were 6 Killer whales performing. Ultimate body surfing. Wonderful ballet Thanking the audience. This is Shamu. Ntice the heavy rain shower that came over. Up and........ ... awaaaaayyy !!!! Then it was Shamu's turn to wet the crowds that were not wet from the rain. Checking out his handi work. And then it was over, but we will watch his other show, "Shamu rocks!" as well. After the intense rain storm we moved to the play area for kids, seeing this was an area with water. But as you can see due to the rain most of the activities were temporarily suspended. A massive paly area, that had a roof so we could seek cover for the next rain storm. And it rained again. Luckily these are only thundershowers and there are still rides that are indoors. Here we took a heicopter ride to the Arctic to see live at an arctic camp. It was freezing here especially after we were soaked from the rain. And there was ice all around us. A Belugah whale. Sven with a close encounter with a Polar bear. Inside the Arctic station. The rain let up and we could enjoy activities again. I had to face my fears after riding the "Kraken" by riding the vicious "Shamu Express" 74 And down we come! At least Michelle and Sven enjoyed this one. Sven even had his hand raised. The Drop. We were here July 2009!!! More fun ahead. Michi in extacy! Sven on a hammerhead shark Michelle having fun. Who says this is only for kids? When in Seaworld do what everybody does! Have fun! Why is it they have a natural talent for poles? Yeeeeehaaaaaa! Then we looked at horses , definately not Seahorses. 91 Look at the size of this horse! Lok at the size of its hooves compared to a normal horse. a silly moment of fun! This was at the Dolphin nursery where the babies swam. At the entrance to the Manta ride and aquarium. The Stingray dome aquarium. Not the best picture, but not often you get to see an octopus so clear. Sven with a shark. Sven taking the plunge. Finally we wanted to see the Dolphin show, but inclement weather with lightning caused the show to be cancelled. But we will go again tomorrow and see it. All the shows are always full house.

Tomorrow we will first do the Manta ride and conclude with the Dolphin show before going to Aquatica, the sister water park Seaworld.
