06 July 2009 Universal Studios Florida

 

Today we start our venture, with Universal Studios Florida with one main ride and all other rides based on Universal movies or shows. The highlights were “Return of the Mummy” and “Men in Black 2”. There were also a lot of rides and fun activities for Sven and Michelle, that are not so much into the gut wrenching coasters. Michi again is an adrenaline junky, forcing me to go on rides I really do not want to.

Early morning start. This is the city walk part, where all the restaurants are situated. P7060074 P7060082 P7060084 P7060085 All the rides are highlighted Luckily for me this ride was not open yet. This was the kidZone were the smaller kids have rides. The heat was so intense we had to cool down in the sprayers often This was the Simpson ride, which was a great simulation. P7060102 The MIB ride Then we took the Harbour tour to find Jaws Luckily our guide was armed! The boat ahead sank Then we saw him. The guide took a shot but he still came at us. Sven was already sitting on Michelles lap. P7060127 P7060129 That was panic in their faces P7060133 On our way to the Twister. On our way there we passed the genuine props from "The Fast and the Furious" P7060141 P7060142 This was the Mummy ride, Sven and Michelle skipped, but we had good fun althogh when Sven rode it with us he said his stomach dropped out six times. After the Mummy ride Some props at the Twister show. Michi and myself went on this F5 Tornado simulation. It was quite thrilling experiencing a Tornado for real. Waiting in line for the Shrek 4D Experience. Ready for action in 4D Preparation to the show. The Horror make up show This was a live show, showing the finer details of horror make-up in the movies They g=had a lot of fun with the audience as well. Att kidzone there was the miniature world of Phineas, and other fun stuff. Everything towered above us Wanted Large props. This was the Woody Woodpecker rollercoaster that Michelle also rode. Thats Michi. Then it was off to the animal actors show, featuring Parrots, Dogs, Pigs and an Urang Utang. P7060213 a Blue and Goold MAcaw flying infront of a blue screen. Who let the dogs out? P7060230 P7060227 At the Boneyard A waterslide This was the waterpark where the kids cooled off, actually they got soaked. Michi got caught off guard when the big bucket emptied. Michelle after Michi dropped the water on her. This was the Curious George waterpark. This car had a Porridge wheel (pap wiel) Every so often the Big bucket topples over. Aim, drop bucket!Michi catching out Sven P7060252  Then it was off to see the Fear Factor Live show, where park visitors are cast in the roles as contestants.P7060261 This womans head was in a perspex box and 6 Scorpions were placed on her head. Freaky!!!!!!!!!!! The usual #@!% eating competition. The final challenge. P7060275 P7060276 The ET fun ride on the BicycleThen it got dark and the kids were famished.

Then we left all tired and worn out, but tomorrow is the day for Sea World.
