National Canaveral Seashore

Today we decided to go back to the East coast where we saw the Manatees. Weather was a lot better, with less wind and more sunshine. Luckily this time we had suntan lotion to protect us, but as a reminder it only works where it is applied, and sure as always, I forgot to do my tummy and again I am now glowing in the dark.

We started off by fishing our normal pier and it was not long before everyone was catching fish. Also the Manatees made their appearance again. After a few hours we decided to go to the beach to do some swimming and relaxing. Beaches were packed, but it was still not hectic. The sun finally chased us from the beach as it was hot as hell. Whilst packing a lady informed us about a little pier a little further on that was quiet and there was supposed to be good fishing.

When we found this pier we were the only ones there. It had a picnic table and the pier directly next to it. This is where we set up our braai to do some lamb chops. Whilst I braaied the kids had fun fishing and a few species were caught including red drum (Redfish) , black drum , needle fish , spike fish (Strepie?) Puffer fish , crabs, Hermit craps, Speckle or sea sea trout, Squeeker Catfish etc.

Sven was the luckies in catching the biggest Redfish to date. Well here are the pictures and now we need to prepare for Amelias Birthday today.
