Amelia's Birthday

Today is Amelia's day and she has decided to go out and have fun. We took an relatively early drive to Seaworld , but roads were packed already being Memorial day and all. We arrived at Seaworld and it was apparent the park was quite full when we parked in one of the further parking lots. When arriving at the door one of the park attendants told me to go to the next entrance as it was less busy. there were lengthy ques at the main entrance. Just a little further on we just strolled in no ques.

When we passed the "Manta" ride (Amelia's favourite) we thought it was quiet and not running. But as we got close a empty coaster was going out, and we saw there were no lines, 15 minute wait. Apparently there was a problem and the ride was temporarily closed for the masses, but as we walked passed they opened again. Straight in!!!.

After an exhilarating ride we wanted to see the new exhibit "ANTARCTICA", but the line was 2.5 hours and to stand in that heat it was just not worth it so we rode the "Kraken" again no longer than 10 minute wait. From here Michelle wanted to do "Arctic adventure" a simulated helicopter ride. Again no problem getting in. From here we decided we did not want to push our luck more and we would proceed to Universal Studios, to do Amelia's other favorite the "Mummy" . We also decided if it said longer wait then 30 minutes we would move on. We basically walked straight onto the Mummy and had a great time. After this Amelia "owned" us all on the "Men in Black" shooting game outgunning the MW4 and Battlefield experts. I will not mention my score as even Michelle beat me by 50 000 points ??????

By now everybody was hungry and it was decided to go out and get some dinner and a drink. We had a great quiet dinner at the Golden Corral, after which everybody was dead tired and basically just plopped down in front of the TV's and fell asleep. Hope You had a wonderful day Amelia !

National Canaveral Seashore

Today we decided to go back to the East coast where we saw the Manatees. Weather was a lot better, with less wind and more sunshine. Luckily this time we had suntan lotion to protect us, but as a reminder it only works where it is applied, and sure as always, I forgot to do my tummy and again I am now glowing in the dark.

We started off by fishing our normal pier and it was not long before everyone was catching fish. Also the Manatees made their appearance again. After a few hours we decided to go to the beach to do some swimming and relaxing. Beaches were packed, but it was still not hectic. The sun finally chased us from the beach as it was hot as hell. Whilst packing a lady informed us about a little pier a little further on that was quiet and there was supposed to be good fishing.

When we found this pier we were the only ones there. It had a picnic table and the pier directly next to it. This is where we set up our braai to do some lamb chops. Whilst I braaied the kids had fun fishing and a few species were caught including red drum (Redfish) , black drum , needle fish , spike fish (Strepie?) Puffer fish , crabs, Hermit craps, Speckle or sea sea trout, Squeeker Catfish etc.

Sven was the luckies in catching the biggest Redfish to date. Well here are the pictures and now we need to prepare for Amelias Birthday today.
