Monday already!

Saturday morning we took a drive and visited a citrus farm stall which had quaint decor and lots of odds and ends. There was a big alligator though that Sven decided to rustle closer to play with.

Sven saw this one and called it closer

Then he got it onto dry land

The they were big pals !

Time flies when you are having fun and / or are busy. Business was good this weekend, so we decided to take the Sunday off. It started with a little shopping spree for decor in the restaurant, the we had some lunch at the Golden Corral. Then we visited Bass Pro Shops as we had run out of Flukes and hooks. When we got there, there were some seminars on the go with Roland Martin and other Bass Pros and we listened in for a while. Michelle did some pitching and won herself a toy and nice Bass Tracker dog tags.

Whilst walking around in Bass Pro we were afforded the opportunity to hold an Aligator, and really I do not grasp how people can kill and even be afraid of the smaller ones, as they are so soft and lovely creatures.

Then as per usual we got in a stint of fishing on Sunday afternoon and again were not disappointed with Michi landing another nice fish of around 1.8kg.

Stressful Fiday

Today we had our Fire and Safety inspection to have the building  certified as safe and guess what? We had to hit old stick in the mud work by the book Inspector. He found that the Fire supressant system was 2 weeks overdue from service and the surpressor nozzles were pointing 5 degrees incorrect. Also he found one extension cord that was used which could be a fire hazard. I do not know how the previous owners could operate for 5 months like this.  OK so he shut our cooker tops down, but allowed us to carry on using the ovens for Pizza. So we had to find a Fire service guy to servic all the equipment and that on a Friday. Luckily we got hold of one and while we had to wait for him I made all the other corrective actions. By 5 o'clock we were up and running legally again.

After all this stress I just had to get away and I took the boys to the creek to do some fishing for an hour. Here Sven caught two nice Bass, Michi got one and I also was rewarded with a fish.  Just some soul food to destress.

Time flies!

Already Thursday again and did not even have chance to place something on the blog. A few things have happened since Monday and we again have accomplished lots of things.

Firstly we applied to get a Florida Drivers license, little knowing that we were immediately placed infront of a computer to perform a learners test. Mine was easy wit ha lot of eeni - meeni - myni - moe options used that payed off. Amelia on the other hand got a thriller with questions in feet , legal issues and fines etc. Needless to say she failed first time round, but could get retested immediately for a $10 fee. Next time she passed with flying colours getting the same easier test than me.

Now we are sheduled for our drivers test on the 18th of March.

Next we got our Federal Tax and sales tax sorted out within one hour. Then we went to apply for our Business licence and Tax for Clermont, also less than 30 minutes.

Now tommorrw only have a Life safety inspection, then we are nearly good to go as Shongololo Pizza & Grill.

Also waiting for the signs and designs for our logo.

Well that's it for now.

A great Sunday

This morning Michi and myself decided to tackle those submarine size Bass at Shingle Creek again
We have seen some monsters patrol the area. On the way there we saw some of the local critters like the beautiful green tree frog. After a slow start and two small fish being sight fished, I tied on a X-rap and all of a sudden it turned out that these submarines followed the lure but did not hit the lure. So plan B was for Michi to follow up with a weightless Fluke and Bammmm  Fish on!

A nice 2.4kg (5lb) in good condition

After this great morning we left for a Barbeque with our new found friends Mike and Tabatha at their home in Legends Golf estate. What a great afternoon spent with great people.

All work and no play, makes us a dull family !

Today we just went to open the restaurant and organised a few items, and then left it in the capable hands of the staff. But before leaving we decided to have lunch and Christoffer prepared us  all a Philly Cheese steak with fries. Always wanted to know what the fuss was about, but I must say verry tasty and filling.

And then guess where we went to spend the afternoon?????   Of course Sea World.

Here the first thing we did was to get Sven on the Manta, as he was too small to ride it last time

And after that the Kraken ride!!!!

Beautiful rock garden that looks like a corral reef with all the small fish positioned in it.

Then finally to finish off the evening before returning to the restaurant we took in the new Shamu show. After rthe unfortunate death of a trainer in 2010 they had to remake the show where the trainers are no longer in the water with the killer whales. All I can say Shamu still "Rocks"
