26 May 2009 Pigeon Forge TN

A relaxing day was planned. After school we took a drive around the area to have a look at all the attractions. Again it was evident that outrageous decor and advertising is used to attract the public. I am not going to write too many captions on the photos, they are self explanatory.

25 May 2009 On towards Pigeon Forge TN

Pigeon Forge is between Sevierville and Gatlinburg in Tennessee, nestled in the Smokey Mountains. This area is well known for its holiday attractions and similar to Disneyworld in Orlando. Here you have Dolly wood (after Dolly Parton). We decided to hang around here to celebrate Amelia’s birthday, and accommodation is relatively cheap. The weather is also still rainy so we will hold of with the camping. After all the driving, we are going to rest for a while before leaving for Atlanta GA on Thursday to meet old acquaintances from South Africa.

I really enjoyed this character. I had to get the picsP5210004  a typical example on the collapse of everything in the small towns. 24 May 2009 From Richmond VA to Bristol TN

Today another driving day. we are heading back South to Tennessee and then to Alabama where I will be fishing my final Tournament in the FLW series. We will be celebrating Amelia’s birthday in Tennessee and then move down to Alabama’s Lake Wheeler. As usual we found a new Bass Pro Shops as we were leaving Richmond in Virginia. This one was quite new and had better decor again.
